Fire Resistance and Air-tightness
The fire resistance and air-tightness of log structures have been thoroughly tested. Furthermore, the following properties of the
log structure have been verified in tests carried out by the Technical Research Centre of Finland:
| Fire Resistance: The fire resistance period of the Ekorex wall structure was verified as 75 minutes in the fire endurance test carried out by the Technical Research Centre of Finland. This is more than enough to fulfil the requirements set for classes REI30 and REI60 implemented in many aspects of construction. Air-tightness: The Technical Research Centre of Finland determined the air exchange rate (n50) of an Ekorex house as 1.8 l/h, which is extremely high in comparison with the normal level. |
